Nature's Sleep Mattress Topper Review - A Great Mix Of Comfort & Support
If you want a memory foam mattress topper for your back that is not too soft but also not too firm, this one from Nature's Sleep could be just what the doctor ordered.
Memory foam mattress toppers can make a huge difference to the quality of your sleep.
Especially if your mattress feels too firm.
Because they add a layer of comfort that helps your body to relax and relieve the pressure being placed on it.
Which can really help you to get into a deeper and more restorative night's sleep.
However getting the right balance between soft comfort and adequate support can be tricky.
And if you get this wrong it can be just as bad for your back.
Because sleeping on a surface that is too soft can throw you out of alignment and cause the same aches and pains as sleeping on a surface that's too firm!
And this is what makes the Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Topper a great option if you suffer from back pain during the night.
As it contains a medium density memory foam that is soft enough to cushion you and relieve pressure.
But also dense enough to keep you aligned and supported.
So you can get the best of both worlds with this one.
Which is exactly what you need to be aiming for when shopping around for a memory foam topper.

And the foam itself is made with an enlarged cell structure which makes it more breathable, resilient and long-lasting.
This also makes it cooler to sleep on as air can pass through the enlarged cells.
And the memory foam used in the Nature's Sleep topper is CertiPUR-US certified.
This means it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals and is low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
Which makes it healthier for both you and the environment as it won't give out harmful emissions.

Why It's Good For Your Back
Back pain at night can occur for many reasons but the two main culprits are sleeping on a mattress that is either too firm or too soft.
These both cause you pain for different reasons.
When you sleep on a firm mattress your main pressure points in your hips, shoulders and lower back come under increasing and constant strain.
While sleeping on a mattress that is too soft will result in your body sinking in too far and your spine being thrown out of alignment.
And both of these scenarios put your muscles and joints under all sorts of unwanted pressure.
So it's no wonder you wake up with various aches and pains in the morning.
And a back that isn't too happy!
So you need to make sure you sleep on a surface that hits the sweet spot between softness and firmness.
As this will give you adequate spinal support yet still provide comfort and pressure relief.
And for people with back pain that sweet spot is a memory foam with a density that lies between 3-5lbs/cubic ft.
As this density is perfect for being able to support the natural curve of your spine.
So with a density of 4lbs/cubic ft the Nature's Sleep mattress topper is slap bang in the centre of this ideal range.
Which is great for your back.
As the memory foam will be soft enough to mould to your body, cushioning you and relieving pressure and strain.
But it will also be dense enough to stop you from sinking in too far.
So your spine will remain in a good alignment whichever position you like to sleep in.
And while memory foam can never match up to the levels of support provided by latex or innerspring mattresses and toppers.
It can still be a great option for relieving pressure and strain.
Also the enlarged cell structure of the memory foam in the Nature's Sleep topper will spread your weight evenly across your mattress as you sleep.
Which will help to ease pressure, tension and stress in your body even further.
So all in all this topper from Nature's Sleep is a great one for your back when compared to other memory foam toppers.
Is It Comfortable Too?
A supremely comfortable and luxurious night's sleep is one of the main advantages of sleeping on memory foam.
And the Nature's Sleep mattress topper is still able to deliver this comfort despite being a little firmer than the softest memory foams.
As it has a plush feel that moulds to your body as you lie on it, relieving pressure and helping you to relax.
And being a bit denser than soft memory foam means it does a far better job of keeping your spine in alignment.
Which takes away the strain from your aching muscles and joints, allowing them to rest and heal.
This will make it much easier to get into a deep and uninterrupted sleep that will leave you feeling refreshed in the morning rather than sore and tired.
And the pressure relief from the memory foam makes it much more likely you'll feel comfortable in the same position for longer.
Meaning less tossing and turning during the night.
And in addition to these pressure relieving qualities, the Nature's Sleep memory foam also has an enlarged cell design.
This means air can pass through the cells more easily so your body heat doesn't get trapped as much as it can do on regular memory foam.
So you can get a cooler night's sleep on the Nature's Sleep topper which only adds to your comfort and quality of sleep.
Which is great as memory foam toppers and mattresses are notorious for being really hot to sleep on.
And finally this topper comes with a soft cotton cover that is lovely to sleep on and also does a great job of holding your topper in place on the mattress.
So no sliding about on this one during the night, just a cool and comfortable night's sleep.
Different Sizes & Varieties
This Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Topper comes in a variety of sizes.
So you can get one to fit any bed from a twin (39" x 75") right up to a California king (72" x 84").
However you can't choose the thickness of this topper as it only comes in the 3" thick variety.
Which isn't that big of a deal but other thicknesses give a slightly different feel and effect to your mattress and your sleep experience.
So it would've been nice to have the option.
However Nature's Sleep do offer a range of different memory foam toppers that range in thickness, material and density levels.
So if the one I've featured here isn't to your liking there are other options which I'll take you through now.
Nature's Sleep Cool IQ Mattress Topper
This is the most similar mattress topper to the one I've reviewed.
However it comes in a 2.5" rather than a 3" thickness.
Which means you'll sink into it even less and could make it a better option for lighter people.
And it also has a slightly lower density at 3.5lbs/cubic ft.
Which makes it a bit softer but still within the ideal range for keeping your spine supported and in alignment.
Nature's Sleep Natural Elements Mattress Topper
This one is also 2.5" thick and is the firmest in the Nature's Sleep range at 4.5lbs/cubic ft.
Which means it'll be the most supportive one.
And it's also designed with materials that will improve your sleeping experience.
Firstly the foam is infused with charcoal which reduces the odour of the memory foam and also wicks away moisture as you sleep to help regulate your temperature.
And it contains a negative ion charge which is said to improve your circulation and help to restore your energy balance during the night.
So quite an interesting list of features!
Nature's Sleep AirCool IQ Gel Mattress Topper
The memory foam is this mattress topper is infused with gel.
This makes it lighter and with larger open cells in the memory foam which allows air to pass through it more easily.
And the gel will also help to regulate your body temperature as you sleep.
Which makes this one the coolest topper to sleep on in the Nature's Sleep range.
In fact gel-infused memory foam can sleep upto 25% cooler than regular memory foam.
So if overheating is a big concern for you then this one's a great choice.
And it comes in two different levels of thickness.
There is a 2.5" topper which has a density of 3lbs/cubic ft.
And a 3" topper that has a density of 3.25lbs/cubic ft.
So both are within the ideal range but at the softer end of the scale.
Warranty And Returns Policy
Nature's Sleep offer a 3-year limited warranty on their mattress toppers which is pretty good.
This covers you for any defects due to faulty workmanship, structural defects, splits, cracks, and the foam not returning to it's original shape.
However this doesn't cover things like general wear and tear, an increase in the softness of the foam, or a decrease in the slow recovery of it.
But as this foam is so dense and really high quality it should hopefully last you beyond this warranty without you needing to use it.
However one really bad thing about Nature's Sleep is that they don't have a proper returns policy.
In as much as you can only return your topper for a replacement or refund if it is defective straight out of the box.
Which basically means as soon as you use it you forfeit your option to return it which sucks.
So unlike other toppers you can't really test this one out and this makes it a bit more of a risky purchase.
However I'd still recommend it as it's a really good topper that will please far more people with back pain than it disappoints.
Just make sure you check it out thoroughly for any faults or problems before you sleep on it.
