The Best Memory Foam Mattress Toppers For People With Back Pain

A memory foam mattress topper can breathe new life into your mattress by adding comfort, cushioning and pressure relief. Which makes them great for those of us with back pain.

Using a mattress topper is a great way of fixing problems with your mattress without having to spend a fortune on replacing it.

As depending on which one you use you can add comfort, support, bounce, spring, pressure relief, firmness or softness to your bed.

But therein lies the problem.

As there are so many different types of mattress toppers available.

So how do you choose the right one that is going to be great for your back?

The first thing you need to do is narrow it down to the type of material used in the topper.

And the two best types of mattress toppers for people with back pain are those made from latex and memory foam.

Both of these can really help your back but in different ways.

So latex toppers are great for adding support and spring to your mattress.

Which helps to keep your spine correctly aligned throughout the night.

While memory foam adds comfort and cushioning to your bed which gives you greater pressure relief.

So it may be down to your own preferences and how your back feels as to which one will suit you best.

However I'm going to focus solely on memory foam mattress toppers here (to see my article on the best latex mattress toppers click here).

And in doing so I'm going to review and recommend the following:

All 4 are great choices for people with back pain but for different reasons which I'll go into in the individual reviews.

But first let's take a look at what memory foam is and why it can be a good option for people with back pain.

What Is Memory Foam?

Memory foam comes in a variety of different shapes and sizes.

Memory foam has been around for a long time now.

Originally developed by NASA in the 1960s as a way to improve the safety of aircraft cushions, it can now be found in many different products such as mattresses, pillows, cushions, and even shoes.

And many people swear by it for helping to relieve their aches and pains in the bedroom.

It's made from polyurethane mixed with various chemicals which increases the elasticity and density of the foam.

And it gets it's name because it moulds to and 'remembers' your body shape as you lie on it, leaving an indentation that slowly recovers as you get up.

Which is great for cushioning you, relieving pressure on your body and giving you a really comfortable night's sleep.

But while it was comfortable, traditional memory foam had a few problems with it.

Such as being really expensive, hot to sleep on and containing chemicals that gave off harmful emissions within your bedroom.

However the more modern memory foams are now much better.

Firstly there are different types of memory foam designs such as ones infused with gel material and those with an open-cell structure.

And these are great for making the memory foam cooler to sleep on as they allow air to pass through and regulate your body temperature.

Then there are the plant-infused foams that help to reduce odour, wick away moisture, and calm you while you sleep.

Also most good quality memory foam mattresses and toppers are healthier now as they don't contain the harmful chemicals that they once did.

And finally they are a hell of a lot cheaper nowadays too.

So memory foam has come a long way from the days when it was solely used for cushioning astronauts backsides!

The Difference Between Latex And Memory Foam Mattress Toppers

Both latex and memory foam toppers are great options for people with back pain.

However they work in very different ways.

Memory foam toppers are better for comfort.

As they cushion and cradle your body to give you a softer and more comforting sleep experience.

And this makes them great for relieving pressure and allowing you to relax and drift off into a deeper and more restorative sleep.

However while memory foam is great for comfort it can be found lacking a bit in the support department.

Which is where latex toppers really come into their own.

As the spring and bounce of the latex provides a great layer of support to your mattress.

Pushing back against your body weight as you lie on it rather than allowing you to sink in.

Which helps you to keep a good spinal alignment and maintain a healthy sleeping posture.

Relieving stress and tension in your body as you sleep.

So a simple answer would be if you want more comfort and pressure relief go for memory foam and if you need more support go for latex.

However both work well for people with back pain.

So it may come down to a case of personal preference as to which will suit you better.

The Pros And Cons Of Using A Memory Foam Mattress Topper

The comfort provided by the weightless feel that memory foam gives you is hard to beat.

Memory foam mattress toppers are great for adding softness, comfort and cushioning to your bed.

And this is especially great if your mattress feels too firm.

As by softening it up you can relieve pressure on your hips, shoulders and lower back.

And there is a long list of additional benefits going for memory foam including:

  • They have great pressure relieving qualities.
  • Memory foam is perfect for softening up a mattress that is too firm.
  • It's also extremely comfortable to lie on giving you a weightless feel.
  • This makes it easier to get into a deep and uninterrupted sleep that leaves you feeling refreshed in the morning.
  • If the foam has a high enough density it can help to keep your spine in alignment, easing strain and tension on your muscles and joints.
  • The foam moulds to the contours of your body preventing any pressure points from developing.
  • It keeps you more comfortable in the one position which cuts down on the need to toss and turn during the night.
  • It's good for eliminating motion transfer meaning you won't disturb your partner as much.
  • Memory foam is hypoallergenic and resistant to bed bugs, mites and allergens.
  • It's cheaper to buy than latex mattresses and toppers.

However while memory foam toppers can be great there are a few downsides that mean they won't be for everyone.

  • They are lacking in support when compared to latex toppers.
  • If the foam is too low in density (too soft) you can sink in too far which throws your spine out of alignment.
  • Memory foam can trap body heat and as such may be too hot to sleep on for some.
  • Some memory foams contain harmful chemicals that can make them unhealthy to sleep on.
  • Memory foam isn't as durable as latex and won't last as long.
  • You can sometimes feel stuck in the memory foam as the way it moulds to you makes it hard to move around in bed.
  • This can make sex a bit more challenging too!
  • Memory foam can give off an odour that may be unpleasant at first.
  • Toppers and mattresses made from memory foam are heavy and can be difficult to move around.

But while these negatives are all true, you can find certain memory foam toppers that will either minimise or eliminate these issues.

And to do this it's all about buying a topper with the right quality and the right attributes.

So don't scrimp and make sure you look out for the following attributes:

  • Memory foam density.
  • Topper thickness.
  • CertiPUR-US certified memory foam.
  • Ventilation properties in the topper.

Don't Buy Cheap

None of us like parting with our hard earned cash, but scrimping on a memory foam mattress topper can prove to be a false economy.

When you first start shopping for a memory foam mattress topper it can be really tempting to go for one of the cheaper ones.

After all they all look the same right?

And if you can get one for under $100 why bother spending 3 times as much on a different one?

However while you could save yourself money in the short term it will very quickly turn into a false economy.

As cheap toppers usually have a very low foam density.

Which means they won't last for very long (in fact you'll be lucky to get a years worth of regular use out of some).

Whereas the higher quality and higher density toppers could last you up to 5 years.

Also the cheaper ones will be softer and lacking in support, so your back will suffer.

And they are more likely to be manufactured cheaply using harmful chemicals.

Which means your health could take a hit by sleeping on them too.

So you really do get what you pay for.

However for those of you that do want to save a few bucks don't despair as there are still some bargains to be found out there.

And I've included one of these in this round up, the Lucid Ventilated mattress topper, which is a great value topper at the less expensive end of the price scale.

Get A Memory Foam Mattress Topper With A High Enough Density

Give your back more support with a higher density topper.

Memory foam mattress toppers come in a variety of densities and you need to pay attention to this when buying one.

As the density of the foam will affect the comfort, feel and level of support provided by your topper.

The following is a rough guide:

  • Under 3lbs/per cubic ft - soft, plush and comfortable but lacking in support.
  • Between 3-5lbs/per cubic ft - medium level density that gives you a good mix of comfort and support.
  • Over 5lbs/per cubic ft - High density foam that will give firmer support but less comfort.

So if you want super soft comfort from your topper, low density foam may be what you are looking for.

However those of us with back pain will need a bit more support than this offers.

Which makes memory foam mattress toppers with a density of between 3-5lbs ideal for us.

As this will stop you from sinking too far into the mattress.

Which will keep your spine in the correct alignment and prevent any strain and tension in your body.

And this is also a better option than the higher density toppers.

Because if you get a topper with a density over 5lbs this may prove to be too firm.

And cause aches and pains in your main pressure points such as your shoulders, hips and back.

So try and stick within this 3-5lbs sweet spot when choosing your new topper.

Choose The Right Thickness

Memory foam toppers also come in a range of thicknesses.

And each one will have a slightly different impact on your mattress, body and sleep experience.

So the thinner they are the firmer they will feel giving you more support but less comfort.

While with each extra inch of thickness you get a softer feel and better comfort and pressure relieving qualities.

  • 1" - Too thin to make a major impact on your mattress or offer much in the way of extra comfort. Suitable only for lighter people and to add to good mattresses as an enhancement rather than a fix.
  • 2" - These toppers offer a good level of support as you won't sink into them as much. Again they are better for lighter people. Also a good choice for stomach and back sleepers.
  • 3" - This is the most popular thickness of memory foam topper because it provides excellent comfort and pressure relief. A great choice to soften up a firm mattress and good for side sleepers.
  • 4" - This thickness level offers similar benefits to the 3" thick toppers but is a better choice for people that are heavier.
  • Over 4" - There are some toppers that come in thicknesses up to 6" although these are more like substitute mattresses rather than toppers really.

So when shopping for a mattress topper keep these differences in mind and choose the thickness that will suit your needs the best.

Make Sure It's CertiPUR-US Certified

Early versions of memory foam didn't really take the health and well-being of the user or the environment into consideration.

As the foam was constructed using petroleum-based chemicals.

And also included flame-retardant chemicals to stop the foam from catching fire.

Both of which would emit harmful off gassing both during the manufacturing process and after the product was finished.

Which was bad news as it contributed to the world's growing air pollution problem.

As well as giving off harmful fumes (VOCs - volatile organic compounds) within your bedroom.

And repeated exposure to these fumes for an extended period of time has been shown to lead to all sorts of respiratory problems, headaches and sinus issues.

Which is not the kind of thing you want to bring into your bedroom!

However nowadays most memory foam is much safer and healthier to sleep on.

And to make sure you are getting a healthy and safe memory foam mattress topper make sure you buy one that is CertiPUR-US certified.

This means it has undergone extensive testing to make sure it is free from harmful chemicals and is low in VOCs.

Which gives you peace of mind and helps you to stay healthier while you sleep.

Get One That Sleeps Cooler

No-one likes waking up hot and sweaty during the night.

Some memory foam mattresses and mattress toppers are notorious for sleeping hot.

This happens for a couple of reasons:

  • Memory foam moulds to your body leaving no space between you and the mattress which traps your body heat at the surface.
  • Air can't pass through the foam as it's not a breathable material.
  • Moisture can't be wicked away meaning you get hot and sweaty during the night.

And this can lead to you overheating and long nights that can feel tortuous to sleep through.

However not all memory foam is destined to leave you feeling this way.

Because you can choose to buy a memory foam topper that has been designed specifically to sleep cooler.

These include:

  • Gel-infused memory foam which creates an open cell structure that allows air flow, regulates your body temperature and can sleep up to 25% cooler than regular memory foam.
  • A ventilated design in the foam that contains small pinholes across the surface to allow the air to flow through more easily.
  • An open or enlarged cell structure which also allows air to pass through the foam.
  • Using a foam infused with plant materials such as bamboo which wicks away moisture and regulates your body temperature.

And you can also make your memory foam topper cooler to sleep on by using the right cover and bedding.

As material such as bamboo and cotton are breathable, allow the air to flow and wick away moisture.

So there's no need to become a victim of overheating on memory foam if you make a few sensible choices.

Summary

The Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Topper provides a great mix of comfort and support which makes it a great all-rounder.

This is because it contains a medium density foam that is soft enough to relieve pressure but also dense enough to keep your spine in alignment.

Which will go a long way to eliminating any aches and pains when you wake up in the morning.

So if you're looking for a memory foam mattress topper that is not too soft but also not too firm, this one from Nature's Sleep is a great option.

How Is It Made Up?

The Nature's Sleep mattress topper is 3" thick and made with high quality viscoelastic memory foam.

This foam has a medium-density of 4lbs/cubic ft which gives it a nice balance between a soft and a medium feel.

And the foam contains an enlarged cell design which makes it more breathable, durable and long-lasting.

This is a good feature as air can flow through these enlarged cells more easily.

Which makes the topper cooler to sleep on than regular memory foam.

The memory foam used by Nature's Sleep is CertiPUR-US certified.

Which means it doesn't contain harmful chemicals and is low in VOCs.

So it's great for the environment, your health and the indoor air quality of your bedroom.

And finally this topper also comes with a 300-thread count cotton cover.

This cover has an 18" stretch skirt which allows you to cover both the topper and the mattress with it.

Which will both protect them and hold the topper in place during the night.

Support

Avoid stiff and aching back muscles in the morning.

The Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Topper has a really good density of 4lbs/cubic ft.

This puts it slap bang in the middle of the ideal range for people with back pain.

And this is great news for your back for a couple of reasons.

Firstly the memory foam will remain soft enough to mould to and cushion your body as you lie on it.

Which means you can experience the great pressure relief benefits of memory foam.

And secondly the foam is dense enough to still be able to support the natural curve of your spine.

As it won't allow you to sink into it too far.

Which means your spine will stay in the correct alignment and your muscles and joints won't come under any extra strain as you sleep.

Meaning they can relax, rest and heal themselves overnight.

And finally the enlarged cell structure within the Nature's Sleep memory foam means that pressure will be spread evenly across the topper as you sleep.

Which will help to ease pressure and strain on your body even further.

So all in all this topper can make a big difference to your back during the night.

Comfort

Go to sleep with a smile on your face.

Memory foam is renowned for it's soft and luxurious comfort.

And while the memory foam in the Nature's Sleep topper is more dense than the softer foams, it still retains a great level of comfort.

As it has a plush soft to medium feel to lie on.

And the foam moulds to your body without letting you sink too far.

So you get a lovely cushioned, weightless feel that really helps you to relax and drift off into a deep and relaxing sleep without feeling too 'stuck'.

This will relieve any pressure and strain you may be feeling.

And that means you are more likely to be able to remain comfortable in one position for longer.

So less tossing and turning during the night.

And another good feature of this topper is the enlarged cell design.

This allows air to pass through the foam so it doesn't trap your body heat as much as other memory foam can.

Making it a cooler option to sleep on which is a big factor when it comes to being comfortable in bed.

And finally this topper comes with a soft cotton cover that is lovely to lie down on and helps to keep it in place on your mattress.

So while it may not be as soft as other memory foam mattress toppers, it can still give you a really comfortable and cool night's sleep.

Different Sizes & Density Options

The Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Topper comes in a full range of sizes from a twin (39" x 75") up to a California king (72" x 84").

So you can get one to fit any mattress.

However you can't choose the thickness or density as it only comes in the 3" thick and 4lbs/cubic ft variety.

But that isn't such an issue here as both of these are pretty much ideal for most people with back pain.

The Final Word

All in all I think the Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Topper is one of the best choices for people with back pain that want to sleep on memory foam.

This is because it has an ideal density which means it's neither too soft nor too firm.

So your spine is supported and stays aligned during the night.

While you get great comfort and pressure relief from the feel of the memory foam.

Which should lead to you waking up feeling refreshed and energised in the mornings rather than stiff and sore.

It's also a great option for softening up a mattress that is too firm.

So while it's the most expensive option on my list it still tops it as it's a really good quality topper that I'd highly recommend.

Pros and Cons

  • Provides an ideal blend of comfort and support.
  • A great choice for making a firm mattress softer and more forgiving.
  • Feels soft enough to ease pressure on your pressure points and relieve back, neck and shoulder pain.
  • But remains dense enough to keep your spine in the correct alignment.
  • The enlarged cell memory foam spreads pressure evenly as you lie on it.
  • The medium-density memory foam is resilient and long-lasting.
  • Enlarged cell design also makes this topper more breathable and cooler to sleep on than regular memory foam toppers.
  • CertiPUR-US certified.
  • The 300-thread count cotton cover is soft and holds the topper in place.
  • Memory foam can't match the back support offered by latex mattress toppers.
  • Some may find the odour of memory foam to be too much, although this should fade within a few days.
  • The high quality foam means it's more expensive than many other memory foam toppers.
  • You can't return it once you've used it which sucks.

  • While the open cell memory foam spreads pressure evenly as you lie on it.

Summary

Buying a mattress topper can be a bit of a minefield at times, especially if you're not sure which type will suit you best.

And it's all too easy to end up with one that is too soft or too firm for your liking.

So this is where the design of the Snuggle-Pedic Double Layer Memory Foam Mattress Topper can really help you.

As it has two different layers of foam which both have different densities and feels to them.

So sleeping on one side will feel softer and more comfortable while sleeping on the other will feel firmer and more supportive.

Which gives you the best of both worlds.

And means you have double the chance of getting a mattress topper that suits you with this one!

How Is It Made Up?

Snuggle-Pedic Patented Double Layer 4lb. & 5lb. Density Viscoelastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper Pad With Reversible Comfort - Queen Size

The Snuggle-Pedic Double Layer mattress topper has a really unique design.

It is 2" thick and is comprised of two 1" layers of high quality viscoelastic memory foam.

But what makes it really interesting is that both of these memory foam layers have different densities.

So one side is softer with a density of 4lbs/cubic ft.

And the other side is slightly firmer being 5lbs/cubic ft in density.

This means that you get a different sleep experience depending on which side of the topper you lie on.

And all the memory foam used in the Snuggle-Pedic topper is CertiPUR-US certified.

Meaning it's free from harmful chemicals and low in VOCs.

So it will give you a healthier night's sleep than other uncertified memory foam toppers.

Support

Snuggle-Pedic Patented Double Layer 4lb. & 5lb. Density Viscoelastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper Pad With Reversible Comfort - Queen Size

Both sides of the Snuggle-Pedic mattress topper fall within the ideal range for people with back pain.

So you will get enough support whichever side you decide to lie on.

As both sides are dense enough to keep your spine in alignment while also allowing the memory foam to cushion your body and relieve pressure.

But having the choice is the really great thing with this topper.

Because if you prefer a softer and more cushioning feel alongside this support then the 4lbs/cubic ft density will be perfect for you.

However if your back feels like it needs a bit more you can simply flip the topper over to the 5lbs/cubic ft density side.

As this will give you a firmer feel and twice the amount of support.

So you've got a win-win situation here.

And both sides have their advantages depending on your preferred sleeping position.

So the softer side is better for cushioning and pressure relief which makes it good for side sleepers.

While the firmer side has more support and less sinkage making it better for stomach and back sleepers.

And to top things off being only 2" thick means you won't sink as far into the topper as you can on thicker ones.

So whichever side you prefer I think you are more than covered in terms of support here.

Comfort

Can you sleep comfortably on the Snuggle-Pedic topper?

Being higher density than most toppers and only 2" thick means the Snuggle-Pedic topper won't feel as soft, comfortable and luxurious as some.

And this might disappoint you if you are expecting a super soft memory foam experience.

But that's not to say it's uncomfortable. Far from it.

In fact the lack of thickness and the higher density can add to the comfort in some ways.

As it keeps your spine in alignment and eases strain and tension within your body.

Which helps you to relax and get a better night's sleep.

Now the most comfortable side to sleep on is obviously the lower density, softer side.

This has a soft to medium feel and does a great job of cushioning your body and relieving pressure.

And being only 2" thick has the advantage of making this topper easier to move around on.

So you won't feel as stuck as you can with thicker memory foam toppers.

And finally many users have reported that this topper doesn't sleep too hot.

So while it doesn't have any special designs or materials that help it stay cool like the other toppers in this list.

It can still keep you relatively cool and comfortable throughout the night.

Different Sizes & Density Options

The Snuggle-Pedic Double Layer Memory Foam Mattress Topper comes in a full range of sizes from a twin (39" x 75") up to a California king (72" x 84").

So once again you can find one that will fit any mattress.

However you can't choose the thickness or density as it only comes in the variety I've reviewed here.

Although that's not such a big deal as by flipping it over you can change the density and feel anyway.

The Final Word

I think the double layer design of the Snuggle-Pedic Memory Foam Mattress Topper makes it a really interesting choice for people with back pain.

As you get both a soft and cushioning topper and a firmer more supportive one for the price of one.

So simply flip it over to change your sleeping experience depending on whether you need pressure relief and comfort or more support and assistance with your alignment.

And you can change this up as and when you need to depending on how your back is feeling.

So while it's not as soft and comfortable as some of the others on the list.

I still think it's a great choice for those looking to ease their pain during the night.

Pros and Cons

  • Two different layers of memory foam meaning you can choose between more comfort or more support.
  • Softer side is better for cushioning you and relieving pressure.
  • Firmer side is great for keeping your spine in alignment and supporting your neck and back.
  • Memory foam on both sides moulds to your body to create a comfortable sleeping experience.
  • The 2" thickness and medium density foam means you won't sink in too far and makes it easier to move around the bed.
  • CertiPUR-US certified.
  • Made in the USA.
  • While being great for support compared to most memory foam this still can't match the back support offered by a latex mattress topper.
  • Not as soft and comfortable as other memory foam toppers.
  • Some may find the odour of memory foam to be too much, although this should fade within a few days.
  • Doesn't come with a cover.
  • You are liable for shipping costs if you decide to return it.

Summary

LUCID 3 Inch Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper 3-Year Warranty - Queen

Sleeping on a mattress that is too firm can lead to all sorts of aches and pains.

As pressure builds up on the main pressure points in your hips, shoulders and lower back when your body comes into contact with this unforgiving surface.

So if that scenario sounds all too familiar to you it's a great idea to soften up your mattress with a memory foam topper.

And the Lucid Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper is a fantastic choice for doing just that.

As it will bring you the comfort and pressure relief that your body is crying out for.

How Is It Made Up?

LUCID 3 Inch Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper 3-Year Warranty - Queen

The Lucid Ventilated mattress topper is 3" thick and made from high quality memory foam.

This foam has a density of 3lbs/cubic ft.

Which means it just about makes it into the ideal range for people with back pain and gives it the softest feel of all the toppers in this list.

The foam itself has an open cell structure.

Which makes it more breathable, resilient and durable than regular memory foam.

And it's also ventilated as it has small pinholes across the surface to allow air to pass through more easily.

Which helps this topper to sleep cooler and not trap body heat.

And finally the memory foam in the Lucid topper is CertiPUR-US certified.

Which makes it healthier to sleep on as it contains no harmful chemicals and is low in VOCs.

Support

LUCID 3 Inch Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper 3-Year Warranty - Queen

Being at the very softest end of the ideal density range for people with back pain means the Lucid mattress topper is built more for comfort than it is for support.

Although it should still be dense enough to keep most people's spines correctly aligned as they sleep.

And by doing this it will help to ease the strain and tension on your joints and muscles.

Which helps them to relax and heal as you sleep.

However being at the softer end of the scale does have it's advantages.

And a big one is that as a consequence this topper is fantastic for relieving pressure.

As it moulds beautifully to your body and really cushions you.

Which means your main pressure points such as your hips and shoulders are free from the firm surface and won't feel stiff and sore.

And the open cell structure of the memory foam in the Lucid topper adds to the support too.

As it spreads your body weight evenly across the topper as you lie on it.

So no pressure or strain can build up in any one area.

Which is great news for your back and your chances of getting a good night's sleep.

Comfort

LUCID 3 Inch Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper 3-Year Warranty - Queen

Comfort is the name of the game here.

As the softer density of the Lucid Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper makes it supremely comfortable to sleep on.

Because the memory foam really cushions and caresses your body giving you a weightless feel that will really help you to relax.

Easing any pressure that your feel.

Which will help you to get into a deeper sleep that leaves you feeling refreshed and re-energised by morning.

And this pressure relief provided by the softer memory foam will also keep you comfortable in the same position for longer.

Eliminating the need to constantly toss and turn throughout the night.

However it's still dense enough that you won't sink in too far and feel stuck.

And the ventilation pinholes running through this topper ensures it remains breathable and doesn't trap body heat as much as regular memory foam toppers can.

Which is great for keeping you cooler as you sleep.

So overall the Lucid mattress topper can give you a really comfortable and cool night's sleep.

Different Sizes & Density Options

Like all of the toppers in this list the Lucid Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper comes in a full range of sizes from a twin (39" x 75") up to a California king (72" x 84").

So you'll find one to fit your bed easily enough.

But unlike the others it also comes in a range of thicknesses.

And it's great to have this choice as each level of thickness will have a slightly different effect on your mattress and your body.

So you can choose your Lucid mattress topper to be either 2", 3" or 4" thick.

I've chosen to include the 3" topper in this review as it gives a great mix of comfort and support for people with back pain.

However you may prefer the slightly thinner or thicker variety.

And finally you can also choose a Lucid topper with the memory foam infused in a range of different materials such as bamboo charcoal, lavender or gel.

Each of these carries slightly different benefits and you can read more about them by clicking here.

The Final Word

So while the Lucid Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper is the least dense topper on the list I still think it's a great choice for people with back pain.

As it's great for softening up a firm mattress and gives you fantastic pressure relief.

And it's still dense enough to keep your spine in alignment and stop those familiar aches and pains from appearing.

It's ventilated design also means it's cool to sleep on.

And this all comes in at a price that gives you great value for money.
